Our DEBUT series of ready to drink wines are designed to present the optimal fruit characters from each variety of grape, grown in its most suitable vineyards in cool climate Western Australia.
This blend of traditional Bordeaux grape varieties from vineyards in the cool south west of Western Australia, produces a wine with blackcurrant, plum and fresh mulberry characters, a full mid palate and a soft fine tannin finish. Complexity is derived from some fermentation and development in French and American oak, giving this wine a delicious mouthful of sweet fruit with notes of chocolate, cedar and plums.

Another example of the Larry Cherubino broomstick sweeping through the Capel Vale operation with very pleasing results. This medium bodied red blend is restrained, even fine; highlighting bright blackcurrant and red cherry flavours that persist. There’s succulence which entices and balance on the finish. Classy.
Rating: Bloody Good

Some of the State’s favourite redblooded sons include the ‘05 Capel Vale. Debut Cabernet Merlot - elegant and refined, yet gluggable by the megalitre.
John Jens - Western Suburbs Weekly
A gold medal, so a great debut for the new Capel Vale livery. Good merlot is harder than you think so enjoy the velvety, dark plum and black cherry flavours, its savoury restraint and gentle, fine tannins. Just what merlot should be like.
