26 May 09 - Tireless Capel Vale crew pick their last grape

After 90 days of solid picking, the Capel Vale crew have finally pulled every last grape off the vines and are taking a well earned rest. It can be hard going waking up at all times of the morning to then jump into the vineyard and pick grapes, but this is the effort required when crafting premium wine!

Capel Vale has established mature vineyards in Geographe, Pemberton, Mt Barker and Margaret River, and produces wines that reflect the distinct climate and soils of each region.

Our picking window is longer than most wineries in Western Australia, due to our ownership of four family owned, mature vineyards. Where most wineries are picking one vineyard, Capel Vale is coordinating four!

And what does this have to do with the wine you love? By matching the right varieties to the suitable region, we craft intensely fruit driven, powerful yet elegant wines.

So when you are enjoying a crisp 2008 Pemberton Sauvignon Blanc, or perhaps a glass of 2007 Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon on a cold winters night, spare a thought for the tireless Capel Vale workers who helped bring it all together.
