In a recent review in 'The Wine Front', wine writer Campbell Mattinson awarded Capel Vale's 2005 Single Vineyard Whispering Hill Shiraz 91 points:
"Don't expect a thick, gutsy, Barossa-styled shiraz. This is a light, juicy, Euro-styled shiraz with swags of five-spice and cherry-like flavour and a ferrous, minerally, licoricey finish. Indeed it tastes more Burgundian than Barossan - if you enjoy this style of shiraz, this is a decent one."
