4 October 09 - Capel Vale: Halliday five star rated winery

Capel Vale has recently received an outstanding review from James Halliday in the 2010 Australian Wine Companion; 5 stars indicating an "Outstanding winery capable of producing wines of exemplary quality and typicity". The 2007 Single Vineyard The Scholar Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon in particular received an outstanding review scoring 95 points. Halliday has explained how Scholar delivers a layered, dark and complex personality of bright fruit, florals and very ripe fine-grained tannin.

Along with The Scholar, Halliday has also highly recommended the 2008 Debut Shiraz Rose` and the 2008 Debut Semillon Sauvignon Blanc. Numerous other Capel Vale varieties were also given excellent reviews, such as the 2007 Regional Series Mt. Barker Shiraz, 2008 Regional Series Pemberton Sauvignon Blanc and the 2006 Sassy Sparkling.
